How to stretch yourself

I am often harping on about the benefits of yoga when asked how people can stretch more. This year I started my own ashtanga practice called Mysore and it has transformed the way I train. Mysore is a way of practicing without being led by a teacher. Sounds odd I bet you're thinking, but by following a sequence with a teacher on hand to show you the next move this really is a unique way of working. The freedom it gives you to relax into a flowing practice, whilst focusing on what you are doing requires discipline. This is something we all naturally crave, whether it's in work or by training, most of us like order. This form of yoga has replaced all my training in the gym. I'm no longer pumping weights or spending time on static equipment or even faffing about in the changing rooms. Now I set off on my bike at 7am and i'm set by 9am for the day. I often think of the place you spend most of your time as your church (not having a religious bone in my body!). Come and visit my church: www.theyogaspace.co.uk
